Hi beauty queens!
It’s our first post of the year, and I’m excited to glam up with you in 2019! Today I’m coming to you with a brand I’ve been eyeing for a while! Col-lab beauty first came to my attention about a year ago. I saw the occasional promoted post on my Instagram feed, and wondered what they were all about. I saw reviews here and there, and on my last trip to Sally’s it caught my eye, so I decided to do a lil haul! Let’s get into it!

There’s nothing I love more than a travel friendly palette with some great basic shades. The Palette Pro Eyeshadow Palette comes in eight variations and promises a pigmented, blend-able, buildable experience. It has a variety of finishes – something I look for in a versatile palette. I purchased Best of the Day because I can never stay away from warm tones ~sorry not sorry~ I really dig this formula, and can we just look at those swatches? Col-lab is serving us creamy, buttery excellence, and for a cool $14.99. ( Also, I thought buying swatch stencils would up my swatch game, but I still managed to get some brown in the lightest shade on the far left ~sorry actually sorry~ ) I love the way the shades played with each other, and while a little building was necessary, the final product is my ideal daily eye look. I’m really impressed with this palette and I’ll be snagging a few other shades next time I’m at Sally’s.

So I’ve found myself really into blush lately, like SUPER into blush lately. I’m talking –putting it on my nose, temples, and eye crease – into blush lately. I haven’t contoured in weeks in favor of coating my face in blush. It’s been my go-to no makeup look, and this blush was the pop of freshness I was looking for. At first glance I expected it to be way too sheer. (Imagine my surprise when I realized it’s called Soft Spot Sheer Blush – way to go, Marty) But when I built it up, it seamlessly melted into my skin and added the most beautiful flush wherever I put it. This cool rosy tone called Just For Fun could easily work on multiple skin tones, and could pair seamlessly with lots of different highlighters. I was obsessed, and I’m more than happy to add this into my blush rotation.

Last but not least I tried the High Rise Insane length mascara. I didn’t use a primer to see if this product took my lashes as high as my expectations. I’m super impressed with the lift of this mascara, and on my more natural days I will most definitely be reaching for this. As someone whose lashes grow downward, I usually apply a lengthening coat before a volumizing coat after curling, and I think this will pair well with my other mascaras.

Overall, I think this was a successful haul! You can find Col-lab exclusively at Sally Beauty and online! What brands are you excited to try this year?
